MEET OUR NEW DIRECTOR

My name is Holly McDermott, and I am honored to serve as the new Executive Director of the Manchester Senior Center. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the City of Manchester and to work alongside a community that values connection, service, and quality of life for older adults. I bring more than two decades of experience in customer service, event coordination, and administrative support. Most recently, I worked with Dexter Community Schools, where I supported daily operations while fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment. Prior to that, I spent many years at Schoolcraft College as a Banquet and Catering Supervisor and Event Services Coordinator, where I led teams, coordinated large-scale events, and focused on delivering exceptional service. Throughout my career, I have valued collaboration, organization, and building strong relationships—qualities I am excited to bring to the Senior Center. I believe the center plays an essential role in promoting wellness, social engagement, and lifelong learning, and I look forward to building upon the strong foundation already in place. I am eager to meet our members, volunteers, and community partners, and I welcome your ideas and feedback. Please feel free to stop by, introduce yourself, and say hello. I look forward to serving the seniors of Manchester.

After a year of watching a cold storage building become a vibrant environment, on Tuesday, October 6, 2025, we officially opened our doors to an amazing Manchester Senior/Community Center.
The Senior Board has been busy planning and scheduling activities tailored to meet the needs and interest of the Manchester community seniors.
Beyond nurturing friendships, healthy lifestyle classes, fun games, activities, quiet corners for reading and puzzle working, the center will also provide educational workshops and promote overall well-being.
Our calendar of events is available in our newsletter, The Trumpeter, on our website and at the Center.
Please, stop by to admire what the Manchester community has accomplished with their generous support. Better yet, plan on staying for a while to join us for lunch and the day's events.
